Lots of Fish in the River
I've been on the river steady for the last week, and fishing has ranged from decent to very good. There have been some quality fish around as well. We've seen a couple of salmon over the 20lb mark and one was hooked and lost to a snag that may have been the biggest salmon i've ever had hooked on this river system. The steelhead, too, have been impressive with a couple over the 10blb mark and one hooked and lost that looked to be pushing 12, 13lbs. Big steelies for here!
In additions to fish hooked, I've been seeing a ton of salmon, which is a great sign. In addition, it seems as if the tribal netting has subsided for the time being, which means this last rain will push a bunch of fish up undisturbed. I believe we will have the best October on the Trinity River that we have seen in a number of years.
Once again, I apologize for the lack of pics. My camera has been having battery issues plus I left it in the travel trailer, so what was on there I obviously cant download at home. Next time Ill have my head screwed on right!
