Fishing Tough Over Weekend

.......but they are on the way! While fishing was difficult over the labor day weekend, a flood of fresh salmon are pushing through the mouth for the last 4 or 5 days. This coupled with the cool rainy weather we are currently having should vastly improve fishing.

Speaking of last weekend, I fished Andy Warren from Silver City, New Mexico. On our first cast of the first day we had something go down I have never seen happen before. Andy hooks a good fish and it swims right at the boat. Once it got to the boat, it leaped into the air and landed right in front of me where my cooler sits.... in the boat! It flopped off the cooler and literally right into the net. One of the coolest things I've ever seen! That morning continued to go well as we landed a handful of big steelhead and a nice salmon. Things slowed after that and the next day, we only manged a salmon in the morning and a nice steelhead just before we ended our day.

Unfortunately, I left my camera in my trailer in Willow Creek where I stay, so I'll download pics when I post my next report.
