Trinity Steel and Salmon
Fishing has remained good with the exception of yesterday. I made the mistake of altering my recent routine and it paid off with a 1 for 4 score for salmon on the lower Klamath yesterday. It sounded like fish had been there, but recent hot weather may have put off a decent bite. Bummer, but thats fishing.
Prior in the week. fishing had been good to very good, with a mix of both salmon and steelhead, depending on what stretch of river we fished. On monday, brothers Enda and Pierce Melvin had an amazing day hooking steelhead but had really, really tough luck landing the slippery buggers. All in all we hooked 10 adult steelhead and 2 salmon, but were only able to land 3 steelies. As far as hooking fish, my best steelhead day this fall so far.
Tuesday saw my biggest salmon of the year so far hit the net. DJ Zach bested this 30lb class chromer on a kwickfish and was one of several nice bright salmon landed by him and his buddy Mark Gavasse.
Im back on the river tommorrow but unfortunately for me, the weekend group I fish every every year with Brice Dusi canceled last minute. If anyone is interested in a trip this weekend, give us a ring. My cell is the best number to reach me on (707-601-8757). Obviously, fishing has been solid, so now is a great time to go. We will be fishing on the Lower Trinity.
